Castor oil has been used for centuries dating back to the ancient Egyptians for its' medicinal properties as well as for beauty. The main ingredient is ricinoleic acid which is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, moisturizing and deeply penetrating. To apply castor oil to your body it is often best to use castor oil packs. They can be made from any wool cloth which is then soaked in castor oil. The pack is placed on the desired area and then covered with an oil-proof barrier and then a heating pad may be placed on top for deeper penetration of the oil.
